Monday, February 2nd, 2026The Trouble With Your Ductwork
Monday, June 9th, 2025When most homeowners think about heating and cooling problems, their minds jump to the furnace or air conditioner. But there’s another critical part of your HVAC system that’s often overlooked—your ductwork. Hidden behind walls, in attics, and under floors, your air ducts are responsible for delivering conditioned air throughout your home.
When your ducts are leaking or poorly sealed, they can cause big problems—wasting energy, raising utility bills, and worsening your indoor air quality. You can avoid all this trouble and expense with duct repair in Lockport, IL.
Are Your Ducts Causing Wasted Money and Dirty Air?
Monday, March 3rd, 2025Here’s a scary statistic for you: in the average home in America which has ductwork as part of its HVAC system, up to 30% of the heated and cooled air is lost through leaks in the ducts. Imagine nearly a third of the air you’ve paid so much to get to the perfect temperature being wasted, never making it to your vents.
And that’s the average! Many, many homes have much leakier ductwork, full of holes, cracks, tears, and other damage. Worse, wasted energy (and thus wasted money) is not the only problem. Leaky ducts also allow contaminants into your air. What can you do? We’re at your service.

But what if your relief is because you were afraid your heating system wouldn’t make it through the winter?
If you’ve got a struggling heating system, and you know you’ll need to replace it in the near future, we urge you to start that process now. Why would you replace your heating system at the end of the season? There are a few major benefits you’ll enjoy if you don’t wait until fall.
5 Signs You Need Air Duct Replacement
Monday, July 24th, 2023Ductwork for central air conditioning became common in the US in new homes that were built starting in the 1970s. For the first time, people had control over the temperatures of their homes, not just when it was too cold outside, but also when it was too hot. It was an amazing innovation, and central air conditioners and the ductwork they use to distribute their cooled air continue to be popular today.
But every system has its pros and cons, and nothing works perfectly forever without needing to be repaired or replaced. Problems can occur with ductwork, especially if it has been in use for many years. What problems? We’ll give you a list. If you notice any of these things happening in your home, have your ductwork inspected by a professional. It may need to be replaced.
SEER2 Changes in 2023 to Impact HVAC Customers
Monday, October 3rd, 2022Here at Johansen and Anderson Inc, we value our customers. This is why we want to ensure that you are always informed of changes in the HVAC industry that may have an impact on your budget and your comfort. With that, it’s important that we inform you of an impending law change and its deadline.
Beginning January 1, 2023, the minimum efficiency standards–SEER2 (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating)–will be much higher than it is now. This change is being implemented by the US Department of Energy, and it will dramatically impact the costs to purchase and install new total comfort systems like air conditioners and heat pumps.

When you think of your air conditioner, you should think of your indoor air quality too. We take the time at our company to go the extra mile for our customers. Something that we’ve noticed is that many Vero Beach residents think of indoor air quality as one of those add extras when it comes to home services. They don’t necessarily think of it as something they need. They think of it as something that that’s nice to have when you get it. We don’t want you to do fall into the trap of thinking this way. We want to make it known that your air conditioning really isn’t complete without a great indoor air quality system too.
